--------“Sugathipuraya” is a youth program functioning in six parishes in Colombo archdiocese Kalutara deanery that gives youth a forum to discuss their common problems and explore solutions with together. Because of that, today youth need good guidance according to the church’s vision to face their common problems and find solutions.
--------“Sugathipura is a totally free program which is involving about 850 Catholic youth from the Kalutara deanery and 250 youth from other parts of the country. The three day camp will be held at the end of the April 2009 at St. Vincent Home Maggona.
--------Today, the Church is suffering the lack of dedicated and committed catholic youth leaders, who take the lead in their parishes and society. Youth should asked to use their knowledge and experience to fulfill the needs of their family, church and society. The program will develop that kind of catholic leadership among the youth carders.
Our aim..................
- Develop closer relationship among the “Sri Lankan Catholic Youth”.
- Give good carrier guidance to face their common problems and find solutions.
- Help them to listen and accept the voice of God.
- Make discussion and forum about the common economic problems.
- Have an opportunity to recognize of each other in the deanery.

"Accept the Message of Blessed Mother at Lourdes, repent and begin a New Life " says Archbishop Oswald Gomis at Kalutara Grotto Jubilee.
The feast of the Grotto of our lady of Lourdes, Kalutara was held 15th February 2009. Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto which was built by Rev. Fr. M. Herold OMI, in 1909 as a vow made to Our Blessed Mother, today it stands as a place of pilgrims where thousands gather every year for the feast.
" Lourdes is truly a place of light, prayer, peace, hope and a place of conversion, founded on the rock of the love of God, which had its culminating revelation in the glorious cross of Christ. Appearing to Bernadette, at the Grotto of Massabielle, Our Blessed Mother's first gesture was, in fact, the Sign of the Cross, in silence and without words. And Bernadette imitated her in turn making the Sign of the Cross though her hand was trembling. " said His Grace the Archbishop Oswald Gomis presiding at the Solemn Centenary Jubilee Vespers of the Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes, Kalutara. Members of the sugathipura were also participated to organize the procession .
